Friday 9 May - Ponsbourne Park
Just beause you find a sign to Ponsbourne
Park don't think you're there yet! It has one of the longest
driveways ever and when you round the corner and see the house
it's a stunning view.
I see lots of engraving on rings... but
it would appear that you can always fit in another diamond
For Sophie and Paul the venue was extra
special as Sophie's mum and step dad had got married there
too. Whilst you can get married outdoors in the stone gazebo,
they choose the Garden Room which was flooded with plenty
of sunshine - perfectly matching the yellow colour-scheme.
Fun was an important part of the day
and I'd been asked to include some more quirky photos alongside
the 'as it happens' moments. The heart shaped group shot did
involve a bit of preparation that morning but the guests all
did their part perfectly.
I'd met the couple at Ponsbourne previously,
where we'd taken some test shots and scoped out options for
dry and wet weather photo locations. So on the day, being
in front of the camera came far more naturally.
Sophie and Paul wanted something more
interesting than simple numbers so each table had a monkey
theme - which was then also reflected in their cake topper!
Guests got to write congratulatory messages on jenga blocks
which I know will be a highly competitive game in their house.
The day was rounded off with a hog roast,
party songs and dancing, conga line and some sparklers and
that was before I headed off!
