Saturday 26 April
- Stoke Place
Stoke Place (near Slough) is a Queen
Anne style Manor House surrounded by parkland and from the
outside looks like a traditional country house. However the
inside mixes classical and modern and allowed Hannah and 'Patrick
to really celebrate with their family and friends.
Hannah's style was also very timeless
but with a few elements of girly bling! Her dress was actually
strapless but she had a lace sleeved top added with belt.
This meant it could be removed for the evening party.
I think these were the largest flower
arrangements I've ever seen and every window sill was filled
with candles. It took ages for the staff to light them all!
The ceremony entrance was all planned
out however the little flower girls took one look at the number
of guests and changed their minds about walking down the aisle.
There's no shortage of greenery at Stoke
Place for photo backdrops. The most organsised ladies attending
had bought heel protectors for their shoes so that they didn't
The hotel also has it's own supply of
push bikes - should you fancy a cycle rather than a walk.
Patrick (who rides a bike anyhow) seemed to really enjoy getting
to grips with his new method of transport.
The candles were re-lit for the wedding
breakfast where the tables had a mix of high and low arrangements.
The menus also included cartoon portraits of family and bridal
party members which were all spookily realisitic!
Hannah and Patrick wanted their evening
to be a proper party. The giant H & P initials that lit
up were a frequent prop for them (and their guests) to pose
with - plus the photobooth got everyone dressing up.
