Monday 28 July -
Heaton House Farm
I travelled up to Macclesfield for the
wedding of Gabi and Sam and it was well worth the journey.
I got to see some amazing countryside, a stunning wedding
dress and the nicest group of people who were all ready to
celebrate and party - even though it was a Monday!
The ceremony was held at Heaton House
Farm - I'd seen a 'Don't Tell The Bride' episode filmed there
so felt like I knew the place even before I arrived for a
proper look around.
One of the best men very kindly offered
to drive Gabi to the ceremony in his car, which thankfully
she managed to get into and out of with ease before dad escorted
her down the field to a waiting Sam.
Outdoor ceremonies often end up being
conducted inside due to the weather. However the July heatwave
was still going so Gabi and Sam got married under the oak
Every guest had a small hessian bag on
their chair which contained confetti and ice cream tokens.
The confetti certainly got put to good use!
The bridal party was one of the biggest
I've photographed (10 groomsmen and 10 bridesmaids) a mix
of family and friends.
The countryside views from around the
farm meant I wasn't stuck for good backdrops. We also spent
a few minutes in the private water gardens and a polaroid
photo frame was hung from the pagoda for guests to pose with.
Polly's Parlour arrived on site for guests
to exchange their tokens for very welcome ice creams. I love
a VW camper van so made sure the bride and groom got to sample
the flavours and have a go in the vehicle.
The wedding breakfast was all about natural
materials with lots of wood and hessian details. The vases
with scrabble letters were lovely. The bride and groom cut
the cake before the meal as it was served as dessert.
The venue has two different barns
for the wedding breakfast and evening so just after sunset
the party really got going and continued until midnight!
